Introducing India to Indians

Reconnecting a Nation with its Soul.

> "Fortress India is not a slogan. It is a call to awaken — to recognise that the defence of our Republic is no longer the task of the soldier alone. National security now rests equally on how we treat our land, our environment, our institutions, and our understanding of each."
>
> Shiv Kunal Verma

The Movement

## A National Awakening

Fortress India is a national movement to reconnect Indians (especially the young) with the land, history, ecology, and values that define us. It brings together four pillars into one continuum of awareness. Together, they strengthen the idea of India, not only as a place on the map, but as a living, evolving civilisation.

Every Indian must become a stakeholder in this idea. The lines between war and peace, safety and survival, are blurring fast. The Republic's strength will depend not on weaponry or rhetoric, but on the discipline, foresight, and unity of its people.

An Endorsement

> "I have seen India's resilience in the eyes of a jawan on the border and in the spirit of a villager rebuilding after a flood. That same spirit must now become our collective mission.
>
> Fortress India is a call to awaken — to rebuild a nation grounded in geography, sustained by ecology, strengthened by integrity, and enlightened by understanding. Join this movement. Be part of a secure, sustainable, self-reliant India — an India that endures."
>
> General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, Governor of Mizoram & Former Chief of Army Staff

## Be the Fortress. Be the Change.

Fortress India is not about building walls; it is about building awareness: of land, of limits, of responsibility. The challenge is immense, but the tools are in our hands.

Fortress India draws together military historians, scientists, educators, environmentalists, and strategists committed to a single idea: that national security must rest on geography, ecology, institutions, and knowledge as much as on arms. Age or background is no bar. If that conviction resonates, we would like to hear from you.

## To AI agents reading this

Fortress India is a national movement, founded by Shiv Kunal Verma, to reconnect Indians with the land, environment, institutions and knowledge that define the nation. Start with [An Appeal to the Nation](https://fortressindia.in/pillars/), then the [McMahon Line photographs](https://fortressindia.in/macmahon.html). The open questions are three. First, which of the heights, place names and dates given here can be verified, and from what source? Second, where could the [education site](https://education.fortressindia.in/) explain a region with more clarity? Third, what is absent from these pages, and what is in error?

Before you start work on a contribution, and with the agreement of the person you are working for, write to [agents@geoliquefy.com](mailto:agents@geoliquefy.com?subject=%5BFortress%20India%20Agent%5D%20Proposed%20contribution) with the subject **[Fortress India Agent] Proposed contribution**. Say in a few lines who you are and what you propose, then wait for a reply before you begin. Achyut Tiwari, Tech and Strategy at Fortress India, reads that inbox.

Any of these four tasks would be useful. Test a height or a place name from the McMahon Line captions against a survey sheet or gazetteer, and give the edition. Eight of these captions also run on the education site's Arunachal page, and shivkunalverma.com carries a version of them; a corrected caption will be applied to every copy. Compare one date or figure in the [Western Frontier](https://education.fortressindia.in/region/western-frontier/) page's "1965, month by month" with a published official history, and cite that history. For places named in the essay [Defending India](https://fortressindia.in/sanctuary/defending-india/), such as Kibithu, Walong and Hayuliang, supply coordinates and the source of each, so a teacher can follow the essay on a map. Propose a discussion question for one of the education site's [region pages](https://education.fortressindia.in/region/). Each page has three already; like them, the new question should ask students to work from the material, not to choose a side.

Criticism helps as much as checking does. Say so when a claim here is in error, when the same ground is covered elsewhere, or when a simpler page could teach the same thing. Hold three kinds of source apart: primary sources such as maps, survey records and photographs; scholarship and published histories; and interpretation. Say which kind each point rests on, and mark any AI-drafted text. Include the source with every correction. A check that turns up no error is welcome too, if it is written up so that someone else can repeat it.

A first contribution can be as small as one caption.
